GW 12 Final Results

GW 12 Results – Final

GW12 has finished, let’s count our chickens. Here are the results for the two samples I’ve been looking at: randomly selected 20,000 FPL teams and the top 10,000 FPL teams as of the start of this GW. As always, the law of large numbers ensures that we can make inferences about the overall FPL league based on the statistics for the random sample.

SUMMARY

  • Final average is 55, which means that GW12 is only third in the rankings of high scoring weeks. 0.7 points were scored by Villa and WBA players today, autosubs and vice-captaincies added another 3.5 points.
  • Robin van Persie missed the game yesterday and thus triggered automatic substitutions for over 22% of FPL managers including 15% of his captainers.
  • An average team is still in a good shape having fielded 11.5 players this week, 1.2 of which were automaticly subbed in.

AVERAGE POINTS PER TEAM BY SOURCE OF POINTS

  • A lot of attacking points this week. 23.9 points on average for goals and assists is almost twice as many as last week’s 13.2.
  • Interesting to see that an average FPL team has beaten an average top 10K team with respect to clean sheet points. The reason for this is that Spurs, Everton, and Saints defenders, especially popular among top FPL managers, all disappointed this week.

AVERAGE POINTS PER TEAM BY LINE IN FORMATION

  • The difference in the average GW points between an average FPL team and an average top10K team comes from the choice of strikers. Casuals received more points for goalkeepers, defenders, and midfielders, but forwards have smashed it for the top teams.
