  1. Hi there, most excellent site, and thanks for your informative & valuable information. Is there any way your stats could inform the relative advantages of wildcards on any given week? ie. difference in points for those who used it and those who didn’t. Hoping this makes a semblance of sense, tata. Apologies if I’m being a bit thick and this is already covered elsewhere on this magnificent site.

    • Nah, don’t think so. I had an idea to write a research article on transfers last summer and to look at wildcards there in a similar way to what you described, but never got my hands on it. Maybe this summer… 😉

      I can tell you the data for this week though (for top 10K as of the start of the GW):
      Number of wildcards played: 1797
      Average score: 83.71

      No wildcards played: 8203
      Average score: 63.57
      Average hit taken: 3.77
      Net average score: 59.79

      So, for an average top 10K player wildcard was worth 23.92 points this week 😉
