Can I ask you to explain how you calculate the numbers of players played per team and why it is out of 12? Apologies if I am being dense about this but not sure I follow why it isn’t out of 11?

Hey, cheers.
“Out of 12” because captains bring double points, i.e. play twice, I think it gives a better picture of what share of the teams have played.
If you don’t want to count captains twice and want to know the number out of 11, you can always deduct the percentage of captains played (from 0 to 1) from 12. Say, for the random sample in this post, you’d have 11.5 – (99.2% * 1) = 11.5 – 0.992 = 10.5.
